Happy World Habitat Day!
October 3rd-9th is known as World Habitat Week in Ames, Iowa, as proclaimed by Mayor Ann H. Campbell.
For this week, Habitat for Humanity of Central Iowa is placing a door in City Hall to raise awareness of the need for decent housing, volunteer opportunities, and the security of tenure.
On the first Monday of October, Habitat for Humanity partners with the United Nations and organizations around the world to raise awareness, educate and mobilize individuals to take action on the current global housing crisis by stating that this day is World Habitat Day.
Come support World Habitat Week by taking a picture with the door in City Hall and posting it on social media with hashtag #WorldHabitatDay and be sure to let us know what your favorite thing is about being home!
